Veer The Movie (Sept. 11)

1 09 2009

a12a1Veer explores America’s fast-growing bicycling culture by profiling five people whose lives are inextricably tied to bicycling and the bike-centric social groups they belong to. The film follows these characters over the course of a year, offering a behind-the-scenes look at their personal struggles and triumphs. Veer examines what it means to be part of a community, and how social movements are formed.

Take a chance to win a tall bike, created by Bad Eye Deer!

Everyone who rides a bike to the screening will be offered complimentary valet parking, and a surprise!

After the party, join the “Well Lit Bike Ride” to the Car Less Museum and enjoy an after movie popcorn party. Maybe enter the “Slowest Bike Rider contest”, or watch a “Tall Bike Joust”.

This isn’t just for bicyclists. This is about having fun just as much as bicycling and relationships in our urbiculture mosaic. This is how we all connect!

Veer is brought to you as a fundraiser for Sharebike.org, a charitable organization which was created to stimulate, support and link together a wide range of community-based bicycle initiatives in the Roanoke Valley.

Admission price is $8.50 and tickets are available at the door, or in advance by calling 540-342-5760.  The event takes place a 7PM at the Taubman Museum.
